Congratulations to the 2014 Little Artist BIG ARTIST Class!
5th and 6th grade artists from East Austin debuted their artistic skills at a spring exhibit at the Pump Project Art Complex April 24 – May 10, 2014. Family, friends, art teachers, and BIG ARTISTS cheered on the Little Artists at the opening reception to celebrate a productive semester and view the artwork created in a professional setting.
Blackshear, Maplewood, and Oak Springs elementary schools participated in Chula League’s 2014 LaBA program. Little Artists shared fun, stories, and refreshments with their guests while enjoying musical performances by the Maplewood Ukulele Choir, the Oak Springs Dolphin Players recorder trio, and SWAN (featuring students from Blackshear). Opening-night attendees also got a sneak peek of what you’ll see on display for auction at the December 13-14 2014 Cherrywood Art Fair (http://www.cherrywoodartfair.org) —auction proceeds are donated back to the Little Artists’ school art programs.
