Weekend Crew Positions

The 16th Annual Cherrywood Art Fair, to be held on December 9 & 10, 2017 from 10 am to 5 pm, is looking for experienced event assistants to work weekend shifts at Maplewood Elementary.

WEEKEND CREW POSITIONS:

Crew: Artist Support
Title: Load in Crew Chief
Friday, December 8th | 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Description: Assists Artist Coordinator with artist load in process. Ensure load in locations are identified. Be familiar with booth layout and direct artists to the correct load in location & booth. Communicate parking/load in policy to artists and encourage artists to load in/move their cars prior to set up & check-in. Ensure dollys/carts/tools are available and manage their use (no bogarting of carts). If artists request assistance – help them transport wares to their booth. Communicate all issues to Artist Coordinator. At end of shift, gather any signage/equipment and trash left by artists. Store in proper locations.

Title: Load Out Crew Chief
Sunday, December 10th | 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Load out)

Description: Assists Artist Coordinator with load out process. Ensure load out locations are identified. Communicate parking/load in policy to artists and encourage artists to load out/move their cars in timely and orderly fashion.

Ensure dollys/carts/tools are available to artists and manage their use (no bogarting of carts). If artists request assistance – help them transport wares to their cars. At end of shift, gather any signage/equipment and trash left by artists. Assist with general breakdown of outdoor fair area. Communicate all issues to Artist Coordinator.

Compensation: 50.00 per shift + free snacks/drinks
Tools Provided: Carts, dollies, signage, traffic vest.
Clothing: Closed toe shoes, gloves, weather appropriate attire

Crew: Logistics
Title: Production Assistant
Sunday, December 10th | 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Description: Work with logistics and production manager to breakdown outdoor/indoor areas of fair. Break down fair equipment/supplies and move to truck. Help reset school cafeteria, gym, teacher’s workrooms for the school day (can include moderate lifting, moving tables, chairs, light sweeping/dust mop, reset of gym equipment. Assist with loading supplies/equipment into truck. Assist with unloading supplies from truck to storage facility.

Number of positions: 4
Compensation: 50.00 + free snacks/drinks
Tools Provided: Carts, dollies, signage, traffic vest.
Clothing: Closed toe shoes, gloves, weather appropriate attire

Crew: Audience Engagement
Title: Surveyor
Saturday, December 9th | 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Sunday, December 10th | 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Description: Engage attendees and encourage them to take written survey. Must have a kind, warm, outgoing personality & be able to succinctly explain purpose of survey to guests. Ask guests a series of questions (from the survey) and record answers on materials provided. Offer guests written or electronic versions of survey if they desire to answer privately. Keep track of all surveys and turn over to producer at end of shift.

Number of positions: 4 (2 each day)
Compensation: 50.00 per shift + free snacks/drinks

Crew: Logistics
Title: Traffic Crew Chief
Saturday, December 9th | 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Sunday, December 10th | 12:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Description: This is an outdoor position located at the main gate to the school campus. You will monitor/manage main gate access, handicap parking and help arriving music/talent acts locate correct parking and unloading areas.

Help monitor traffic cones and work with valet/pedicab teams as necessary. Monitor street parking to ensure guests park correctly. Saturday: Set out no parking sign at the church (for Sunday services). On Sunday, gather all traffic signage, traffic barriers and equipment after fair closes and check them against equipment & rental inventory lists.

Compensation: 150.00
Tools Provided: Chair, traffic vest, activity/music schedule, list of talent
Clothing: Closed toe shoes, gloves, weather appropriate attire
